1. Our Volunteer Rights, Safeguarding & Mutual Commitment Charter
Volunteering within a family and community association is an act of civic generosity that deserves structured support, clear boundaries, and genuine gratitude. At ASS CATHO CHEFS DE FAMILLE, every volunteer—whether contributing two hours a month or six hours a week—is protected and guided by our official Volunteer Charter adopted by the General Assembly in Saint-Igneuc:
What Our Association Guarantees to You
- Comprehensive Civil Liability Insurance: Every registered volunteer is fully covered under the association's institutional civil liability policy during all indoor workshops, hall maintenance tasks, and supervised field excursions across Jugon-les-Lacs.
- Structured Onboarding & Paired Mentorship: No volunteer is ever placed in charge of a workshop or study group alone on their first day; you are paired with an experienced coordinator until you feel completely confident.
- Respect for Personal & Family Rhythms: As a family-centered organization, we respect your own household commitments. Schedules are agreed mutually each term with full flexibility for family holidays or caregiving duties.
- Democratic Voice in Program Planning: Volunteers are invited to committee debriefings and the Annual General Assembly to help shape future educational and cultural initiatives.
What You Commit to Uphold in Saint-Igneuc
- Unconditional Hospitality & Respect: Welcoming every parent, child, teenager, and senior citizen with kindness, patience, and dignity, free of any prejudice or partisanship.
- Strict Confidentiality & Discretion: Respecting the privacy of families who share personal, academic, or caregiving difficulties during parental support circles or home visits.
- Child & Senior Safeguarding Compliance: Adhering strictly to our dual-adult supervision rules, open-door classroom policies, and field excursion safety protocols at all times.
- Disinterested Non-Commercial Service: Never using associative venues, contact lists, or workshops for commercial solicitation, private tutoring fees, or personal financial gain.
2. Five Community Participation Pathways for 2026
Residents of Saint-Igneuc, Dolo, Jugon-les-Lacs, and neighboring parishes bring a wide diversity of life experience. We organize our volunteer workforce into five specialized committees so everyone can contribute where their talents shine brightest:
Literacy, Study Mentorship & Library Care
Ideal for retired teachers, avid readers, students, and parents. Help catalog our 1,800-volume library, guide children in Wednesday afternoon reading circles, or assist middle-schoolers with mathematics, history, and French composition.
Theater, Choral Music & Local Archives
Ideal for musicians, amateur actors, seamstresses, photographers, and local historians. Help direct Saturday morning choir and theater rehearsals, build stage sets, sew costumes, or curate archival photo exhibitions of Saint-Igneuc.
Senior Visits, Transport & Family Hospitality
Ideal for empathetic listeners and licensed drivers. Provide friendly weekly check-ins to isolated rural elders, offer carpool accompaniment to Sunday cultural matinees, or welcome new parents moving into Jugon-les-Lacs.
Community Hall Upkeep & Pedagogical Garden
Ideal for craftspeople, gardeners, and practical organizers. Join our twice-monthly Monday morning work crew in Saint-Igneuc Bourg to maintain seating, acoustic panels, lighting, and our organic courtyard vegetable and herb garden.
Institutional Dialogue & Consultative Reports
Ideal for citizens interested in local public life and family welfare. Participate in monthly evening drafting sessions preparing constructive proposals on school bus safety, rural accessibility, and family services for local authorities.
Volunteer Training, Intergenerational Pairing & Youth Civic Engagement
Many residents of Jugon-les-Lacs hesitate before volunteering because they wonder whether they possess specialized academic credentials or sufficient free time. At ASS CATHO CHEFS DE FAMILLE, we emphasize that every neighbor has valuable gifts to share. Whether you are a young parent who can help welcome families for ninety minutes on a Saturday morning, a retired artisan who enjoys repairing wooden chairs and mentoring teenagers, or an office professional who can help proofread our quarterly community bulletin, your contribution makes an immediate, tangible difference in Saint-Igneuc.
To support our volunteers throughout the year, the Board of Directors organizes three free internal training and fellowship mornings each year in our Main Community Hall:
- Autumn Safeguarding & Hospitality Briefing (September): A practical session reviewing our child and senior safeguarding rules, accessible welcoming practices, emergency evacuation procedures in Saint-Igneuc Bourg, and active listening skills for family support circles.
- Winter First-Aid & Rural Solidarity Refresher (January): Conducted in partnership with certified civic first-aid instructors, this workshop reviews PSC1 emergency response steps and coordinates our winter check-in protocol for isolated elderly residents across Saint-Igneuc and Dolo.
- Spring Pedagogical & Cultural Planning Forum (May): An open, convivial morning where volunteers from all five committees share lessons learned during the school year, celebrate collective achievements over a shared family lunch, and co-design the summer and autumn workshop calendar.
We also warmly welcome adolescents aged fifteen to nineteen (with parental consent) who wish to gain their first experience of civic service by assisting with library cataloging, theatrical lighting, or courtyard gardening alongside adult mentors. Upon request, our General Secretary issues an official Certificate of Associative Volunteer Service (Attestation de Bénévolat Associatif — Loi 1901, RNA W221001725) recognizing the hours and skills contributed by young volunteers for their academic portfolios.
Furthermore, every volunteer household is invited to our annual Intergenerational Thanksgiving & Fellowship Luncheon held each June in the courtyard of Saint-Igneuc Bourg. At this gathering, the President and Board of Directors present the collective impact achieved across the municipality of Jugon-les-Lacs—celebrating the hundreds of books read with children, the dozens of home visits shared with elders, and the vibrant theatrical and choral performances offered free of charge to our rural neighbors.
