2. Weekend Educational & Creative Family Workshops

Weekends offer precious hours when parents and children can step away from weekday routines and engage in shared creative discovery alongside neighbors and elders. At ASS CATHO CHEFS DE FAMILLE, our weekend workshops are structured into three thematic tracks that run throughout the year:

TRACK A · PERFORMING ARTS

Family Theater, Diction & Choral Harmony

Led by volunteer choir directors and amateur dramatists from Jugon-les-Lacs, this workshop teaches vocal projection, choral sight-reading, stage presence, and set painting. Parents and children rehearse side by side, learning classic French theatrical scenes and traditional Breton melodies that culminate in free public matinees for the entire village.

TRACK B · MANUAL & HERITAGE CRAFTS

Woodworking, Botanical Gardening & Textile Arts

Retired cabinetmakers, seamstresses, and master gardeners from Saint-Igneuc transmit practical manual skills to young people and young parents. Participants learn how to repair household furniture, mend clothing, cultivate seasonal vegetables in our courtyard garden, and appreciate the patience and dignity of manual craftsmanship.

TRACK C · PARENTAL & CIVIC DIALOGUE

Family Life Seminars & Household Mutual Aid

Once a month on Saturday afternoons, while children participate in supervised reading and art games in the adjacent studio, parents gather for structured roundtable conversations. Topics include fostering sibling harmony, cultivating gratitude and moral responsibility, managing household budgets, and caring for aging grandparents.

3. Field Excursion Safety Rules & Public Enrollment Procedures

In addition to indoor workshops in Saint-Igneuc Bourg, ASS CATHO CHEFS DE FAMILLE organizes seasonal educational field excursions around the lakes of Jugon-les-Lacs, the Arguenon river valley, and historical architectural sites in Brittany. Because the physical safety and moral protection of minors and vulnerable seniors are paramount, every field excursion is governed by five mandatory safety rules enforced by our Board of Directors:

  1. Written Parental Authorization & Emergency Contact Sheet: No minor may participate in an outdoor walking excursion without a signed parental authorization form on file at the secretariat specifying medical allergies and two reachable telephone numbers—or direct accompaniment by a parent or legal guardian.
  2. Strict Adult-to-Child Supervision Ratios: All outdoor heritage and ecological walks maintain a minimum supervision ratio of one vetted adult volunteer for every five children under age twelve (1:5), and one adult for every eight adolescents aged twelve to seventeen (1:8).
  3. Certified First-Aid Kit & PSC1 Volunteer Presence: Every field group is accompanied by at least two volunteers holding current French Civic First Aid certification (Prévention et Secours Civiques de niveau 1 — PSC1) carrying a complete emergency first-aid kit and mobile communications.
  4. High-Visibility Attire & Pre-Inspected Walking Routes: Routes along rural lanes or lakeland paths in Jugon-les-Lacs are scouted 48 hours prior by our Facilities & Safety Commission, and group leaders wear high-visibility identification vests at all road crossings.
  5. Inclusive Accessibility for Seniors: Whenever seniors participate in outdoor heritage excursions, resting benches, shaded stops, and volunteer-driven support vehicles are arranged along the itinerary.

4. Venue Hospitality Standards, Weather Contingency & Intergenerational Inclusion

Every event on the 2026 civic agenda of ASS CATHO CHEFS DE FAMILLE is designed so that households with infants, school-age children, teenagers, and elderly grandparents can attend comfortably together. Our Main Community Hall and adjacent study rooms in Saint-Igneuc Bourg provide step-free ground-floor access, reserved front-row seating with armrests for seniors with reduced mobility, a quiet family reading corner for parents tending to young toddlers, and heated indoor gathering spaces during the autumn and winter months.

When outdoor heritage walks or botanical garden workshops are scheduled around Jugon-les-Lacs and the Arguenon valley, our Facilities & Safety Commission monitors departmental meteorological bulletins from Météo-France 24 hours prior to departure. In the event of heavy rain or high winds in the Côtes-d'Armor, outdoor activities are never abruptly canceled without an alternative; instead, they are seamlessly transferred inside our Saint-Igneuc community hall, where volunteer naturalists and historians lead interactive indoor archival and craft sessions. Furthermore, in strict compliance with our Association Loi 1901 charter (RNA W221001725, SIREN 342371317), all refreshments, study booklets, and workshop supplies provided during our events are financed through public grants and reinvested statutory membership dues—ensuring a 100% non-commercial environment for every resident.
